What's included
A Magento to Shopify migration includes your catalog, customers, order history, content, redirects and integrations, rebuilt to fit how Shopify stores data.
01
Configurable products become Shopify products with variants. Custom attributes move to metafields, and bundles or grouped products get an app or theme solution.
02
Customer records, addresses, order history and product reviews are imported and checked. Passwords cannot move, so customers are invited to reactivate their accounts.
03
Every Magento product, category and CMS URL, including .html suffixes and category paths, mapped to its Shopify URL.
Shopify SEO →04
Your Magento theme rebuilt in Shopify, and each extension replaced by a native feature, a Shopify app or custom code.
Shopify development →05
ERP, inventory and supplier EDI feeds reconnected to Shopify and tested before go-live so orders keep moving.
EDI and ecommerce operations →06
Customer groups and Adobe Commerce B2B features mapped to Shopify Plus B2B, and store views mapped to Shopify Markets where it fits.
How we run it
We migrate Magento to Shopify in five steps, with data tested on a staging store before any DNS change.
Step 1
Crawl the Magento store, export the URL rewrites and list every extension, attribute set and integration.
Step 2
Map products, attributes and customer groups to Shopify fields, and old URLs to new ones.
Step 3
Build the Shopify theme, install replacement apps and import data to a staging store.
Step 4
Import the redirects, switch DNS, send account invitations and run launch checks.
Step 5
Watch Search Console, orders and ERP or EDI feeds, and fix gaps as they appear.
URLs and redirects
Magento URLs map to Shopify's fixed /products/, /collections/, /pages/ and /blogs/ paths, so almost every URL changes and needs a 301 redirect. Magento lets you set any URL key and suffix; Shopify does not.
/blue-jacket.html or /men/jackets/blue-jacket.html becomes /products/blue-jacket. Each category path version of a product URL gets its own redirect.
/men/jackets.html becomes /collections/mens-jackets. Shopify collections are flat, so nested categories need a menu and filter plan.
/about-us becomes /pages/about-us. Posts from a Magento blog extension move to Shopify blogs at /blogs/news/post-handle.
All Shopify migrations →Store view URLs for other countries or languages map to Shopify Markets. Layered navigation filter URLs redirect to the parent collection, not one by one.

FAQ
Not if the migration is planned for search. Most ranking losses come from missing redirects, and a Magento store can have thousands of URL rewrites, including .html suffixes and category paths. We map each one to its Shopify URL, carry over titles, meta descriptions and content, and monitor Search Console after launch to catch gaps early.
Yes. We migrate Magento 2, Adobe Commerce and Adobe Commerce Cloud stores, and Magento 1 stores still running after Magento 1 reached end of life in June 2020. The data model is similar across versions, so the work is mapping products, attributes, customers and URLs to Shopify, then replacing extensions and integrations.
Configurable products become Shopify products with variants, and each child simple product becomes a variant with its own SKU, price and inventory. Shopify allows three options per product, so products with more option attributes need a different structure or an options app. Custom attributes used for specs or filters move to metafields.
Customer records, addresses and order history can move from Magento to Shopify, but passwords cannot be migrated for security reasons. After launch, customers receive an account invitation so they can set a new password. We import historical orders for reference and reporting and check totals on a staging store first.
Largely, through Shopify Plus. Shopify Plus B2B covers company accounts, catalogs with custom pricing, payment terms and quantity rules, which replaces many Adobe Commerce B2B setups. Store views for other countries or languages usually map to Shopify Markets. Features such as requisition lists or complex quote flows may need an app or custom work.
We rebuild them for Shopify before launch. Common ERPs and EDI providers have Shopify connectors, and others can use the Shopify Admin API. We test product, inventory and order flows against the staging store, plan switch-over day so orders keep flowing to your ERP and suppliers, and watch the feeds closely in the weeks after.
