Services · Site speed optimization
Site speed optimization makes pages load faster, respond sooner and stay visually stable for real visitors. NativeCode, an Atlanta-based agency serving companies nationwide, improves Core Web Vitals on Shopify, Webflow and WordPress by fixing the images, fonts, scripts, apps and templates that slow key pages down.

What's included
Site speed optimization covers every layer between your server and what a visitor sees, judged by the metrics Google uses.
01
LCP, INP and CLS checked for each template, with the element, script or request behind every slow result.
02
Render-blocking code, heavy sections and layout shifts fixed in Shopify themes, Webflow templates and WordPress themes.
Shopify development →03
WebP and AVIF formats, correct sizing, lazy loading below the fold, preloaded hero images and font loading that stops text from jumping.
04
Unused Shopify apps, duplicate pixels and heavy Google Tag Manager containers removed, deferred or loaded only where they are needed.
05
Cache headers, CDN settings and image delivery checked so repeat visits and distant visitors still get fast pages.
06
Lab tests and field data watched after each theme update, app install or site release so regressions are caught early.
Technical SEO →How we run it
A site speed project runs in four steps, and every change is measured before and after it ships.
Step 1
We pull field data from CrUX and Search Console, then run Lighthouse on each key template.
Step 2
Each slow metric is traced to the element, script or app causing it, then ranked by effort and impact.
Step 3
We change themes, templates and assets on Shopify, Webflow or WordPress, or write tickets for your developers.
Step 4
After each release we recheck lab scores and watch field data so regressions are caught early.
Field data vs lab data
Google measures site speed with field data from real Chrome users in the Chrome UX Report (CrUX), and assesses Core Web Vitals at the 75th percentile of page visits.

FAQ
Site speed optimization is the work of making web pages load faster, respond sooner and stay visually stable for real visitors. It covers images, fonts, JavaScript, third-party scripts, theme code, caching and CDN setup. The goal is to pass Google's Core Web Vitals in field data and give visitors a faster experience, especially on mobile.
They often show different data. The PageSpeed Insights performance score comes from a single Lighthouse lab test on a simulated device. The Search Console Core Web Vitals report uses field data from real Chrome users over a rolling 28-day window. Google assesses Core Web Vitals on field data, so we use lab tests to debug and field data to judge progress.
They can. Many Shopify apps add their own JavaScript, CSS and network requests to every page, even pages where the app is not used, and code from uninstalled apps can stay in the theme. We review each app and tag, remove what is unused, load the rest only where it is needed, and consolidate tracking in one tag manager setup.
Speed can affect conversions, but the size of the effect differs by site, so we do not promise a set lift. Slow product pages, laggy filters and layout shifts during checkout add friction for buyers. We compare conversion rate by template in GA4 before and after speed releases, and pair speed work with conversion rate optimization when testing is needed.
The first round of fixes usually takes a few weeks, depending on the platform, the number of templates and how many apps and scripts are involved. Lab results change as soon as a fix is released. Field data in CrUX and Search Console updates over a rolling 28-day window, so confirmed Core Web Vitals changes take about a month to show.
