The math, stated plainly

Every NativeCode product publishes its assumptions on the page. This is the sequence the engine follows.

BMR = 10·kg + 6.25·cm − 5·age + 5 (men) / − 161 (women)

Mifflin-St Jeor is the default, recognised by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as the most accurate general-population equation.

From the last period

EDD = LMP + 280 days

The standard convention. It assumes a 28-day cycle with ovulation near day 14; a different cycle length shifts the estimate by the difference from 28.

Project the next period

next period = last period + cycle length

A cycle is counted from the first day of bleeding to the day before the next bleed. The site projects three cycles, not one.

Normalise to seconds

Every clock time is converted to total seconds, the change is applied, and the result is normalised back to a 12- or 24-hour clock, tracking day rollover.

Measure the band

The snug ribcage measurement is the band. The modern method does not add four inches — that rule dates from stiffer fabrics and is the most common source of wrong sizes.

Sizes vary by brand; bodies don’t. The guide anchors on a small set of measurements and maps them to each brand’s published chart.

The multiplier is the single biggest variable. The site tells people to match an average week, not a best one — a desk job plus four hard sessions is ×1.55.

EDD = conception + 266 days

Two weeks fewer than the LMP count — which is why 40 weeks from the last period is roughly 38 weeks of development.

ovulation = next period − luteal phase

The luteal phase holds near 14 days for most people while the follicular phase absorbs the variation — so counting backward is more reliable than the day-14 rule.

When an end time is earlier than the start, the calculator can treat it as the next day — so 11:00 PM to 2:30 AM reads 3h 30m.

cup = bust − band · 1″ per cup

A loose measurement across the fullest point. One inch of difference is an A, two is a B, three a C, four a D, then DD and beyond.

BMR = 370 + 21.6 × lean mass (kg)

Entering a body-fat percentage switches the engine to Katch-McArdle, which is driven by lean mass rather than total weight.

From IVF transfer

EDD = transfer + 266 − embryo age

A day-5 blastocyst is transfer + 261 days. Because the embryo's age is known exactly, this is the most precise self-calculation available.

Bracket the fertile window

window = 5 days before ovulation + ovulation day

Sperm survive up to five days; the egg about one. Conception is likeliest in the final two days.

paid = out − in − break · decimal = minutes ÷ 60

Thirty minutes is 0.5 hours, forty-five is 0.75. Every work-hour result shows both clock and decimal formats.

Band numbers change by system — inches, centimetres, or dress-size-style numbers — and cup ladders diverge above D. The converter handles both.
